How much money can you make by reclaiming the lead from your shooting range?
Below is the general procedure that Midwest follows to determine how much money or percent of lead shot your gun club will receive. Every project will be priced based on amount of shot in your shot field, terrain, soil type and other factors. We will review these with your club and strive to provide the highest possible return to you, with no cost to your gun club.
As a point of reference, some very small clubs with one trap have received $5,000 to $10,000. Some of the larger clubs that we work with have received over $30,000.

Calculate the percent of reclaimed shot that your club will receive
Actual price paid by foundry is dependent on new lead spot market prices. Recovered lead shot generally brings 50-55% of the spot price of new lead.
Bullets recovered from gun club berms generally bring about 50% of the price of recovered lead shot due to non-lead bullet jackets. (Approx. 25% of the spot price of new lead)
Midwest ships recovered lead shot to foundry.
Foundry pays two to three weeks after receiving lead shot shipment.
Midwest pays gun club or gives a percentage of the recovered lead shot as decided by your gun club.
